Luxury car theft ring busted in US; 90 high-end cars worth $8M stolen

2 Min Read

A major luxury car theft network targeting high-end machines has been busted in the United States. Authorities allege that more than 90 premium vehicles – ranging from Porsches and BMWs to Range Rovers – were stolen as part of a highly coordinated criminal enterprise worth over $8 million.

The bust, announced by New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport, follows a year-long multi-agency investigation that has led to charges against 63 individuals. What’s shocking isn’t just the numbers – it’s how methodical the entire operation appears to have been.

According to prosecutors, this wasn’t random theft. Specific cars were identified, tracked, and then stolen. From there, the vehicles allegedly moved through a structured system, much like a legitimate business. Investigators claim the stolen cars were funnelled to key figures within the network before being transported to a shipping yard in Irvington.

The cars were reportedly loaded into containers and exported via ports in New Jersey and New York, eventually reaching buyers in West Africa, particularly Ghana and Nigeria.

The list of charges is extensive – racketeering, vehicle theft, trafficking, and burglary among them – highlighting the organised nature of the operation. Authorities believe this network was active between June 2025 and June 2026.
