BMW M Hybrid V8 lands in Gran Turismo 7 in the latest update

There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing top-tier endurance cars make their way into the virtual world. And Gran Turismo 7 just raised the bar again. With its latest free update, developer Polyphony Digital adds five new cars, headlined by the brutal BMW M Hybrid V8.

But here’s the twist. Instead of the updated 2026-spec model, the game features the original version of BMW’s hybrid prototype. Not a deal-breaker, though. If anything, it preserves the raw, aggressive identity the car debuted with.

And it doesn’t arrive alone. The update also packs serious endurance racing cars, including the Porsche 963, Peugeot 9X8, and the stunning Ferrari 499P. Rounding things off is the 992-gen Porsche 911 Turbo S Safety Car.

Now, let’s be honest. For most of us, this is the closest we’ll ever get to driving the BMW M Hybrid V8. Built strictly for factory-backed racing programs, it’s not something you can just buy – even if money is no object. Our PlayStations remain the only garage that’ll welcome one.
