Aston Martin Vanquish returns as an 824 hp V12 flagship GT

The Aston Martin Vanquish nameplate is back after a six-year hiatus. The last time a flagship V12 GT out of Gaydon used this name was in 2012. Now in its third generation, the Vanquish is the fastest series production car built by Aston Martin.

The 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish is built around a bonded aluminium chassis that is said to be 75% stiffer than the DBS 770 Ultimate, while the wheelbase has been stretched by 80 mm.

When it comes to the design, Aston Martin has adopted the traditional recipe of a long, extended bonnet, short overhangs and flared wheel arches, resulting in an elegant yet muscular look. It features a low-slung grille, revised LED headlamps and a sculpted bonnet with extractor vents. The vents on the front fenders have also been redesigned, and so has the rear fascia, which now features a string of LED lights with a carbon fibre central section and an integrated duck tail. The reworked rear bumper houses a large diffuser and quad exhausts.

Step inside and you are greeted by a chunky 3-spoke steering wheel and a wide centre console. The new interior boasts a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a similar-sized digital gauge cluster.

Pop open the hood, and you will find a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine. The heavily revised motor features a stronger cylinder block, conrods, redesigned cylinder heads with re-profiled camshafts and new intake and exhaust ports. The result is 824 hp @ 6500 rpm and 738 lb-ft of torque @ 2500-5000 rpm.

The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and power is sent to the rear axle via an electronic limited-slip differential. The car comes with a Boost Reserve function that increases the turbo boost pressure momentarily when full power is needed, especially while overtaking another vehicle.

Aston Martin claims the new Vanquish can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 214 mph. There are five drive modes: Wet, Sport, Sport Plus, Track and Individual.

The new Vanquish rides on 21-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tyres with 275/35 in the front and 325/30 in the rear. Brakes come in the form of 410 mm and 360 mm carbon ceramics at the front and rear, respectively.

Production of the 2025 Vantage will be limited to 1000 units per year. Deliveries will begin in Q4 of 2024.
