Looks like the cheapest R35 Nissan GT-R in the US has been found, courtesy of Craigslist.

This 2009 Nissan GT-R has been listed for sale in Santa Rosa, California. The current owner is selling it for just $34,000, which sounds unreal, but there’s a good reason for it.

As you can guess from the images, the owner has made a few modifications to the GT-R. It would require a lot of work to restore it to stock condition.

The front and rear bumper would have to be painted. It has aftermarket wheels, an aftermarket exhaust with catless downpipes and a muffler delete. The owner has also made some changes to the interior.

Now, coming to the real reason why this car costs so less – according to the seller, this GT-R requires a complete engine rebuild due to metal shavings in the block. It also requires a new passenger-side airbag, which went off following an off-road excursion that ended in a ditch.

Would you buy this $34,000 Nissan GT-R as your next project car? Let us know in the comments.
