Limited edition Bentley Batur W12 is a precursor to EVs

The Bentley Batur has officially broken cover at Pebble Beach. The W12-powered coachbuilt coupe previews Bentley’s design language for future EVs.

The Bentley Batur is based on the Continental GT and is built in collaboration with coachbuilders Mulliner. It features the brand’s signature grille up front and a restyled bumper. The large round headlamps have been replaced with sleek rounded units with three LED elements. The rear of the Batur dumps the oval-shaped tail lamps for a slim triple-pod setup. It also has a retractable spoiler.

The Batur comes with a bespoke interior as well. It has a flat-faced dashboard. The centre console has been raised, forming two well-defined cockpits on either side.

The Bentley Batur is one of the last cars to be powered by the 6.0-liter W12 engine. While this motor has been around for ages, it gets a new intake system, upgraded turbos and other modifications in this car. The result is 729 hp. That’s 79 hp more than the Continental GT Speed’s W12 engine.

As reported earlier, the Bentley Batur will be limited to just 18 units. That’s slightly more than the 12 Bacalar open-top cars Bentley produced in 2020.
