2020 Chevrolet Camaro: Will the Emergency Facelift improve Sales?

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro has been given an emergency facelift after the harsh criticism that the 2019 model received upon launch. The question is will it save the muscle car from dismal sales numbers?

Not many people actually liked the MY2019 Chevrolet Camaro. The styling tweaks missed the mark completely. The positioning of the bowtie badge at the front was heavily criticized. Even loyal fans of the Camaro didn’t hesitate to call out the major misfire in that department. Chevrolet has now responded to the remarks made by the target audience and has rectified things to a certain extent in the 2020 model.

2020 Chevrolet Camaro SS-2

The most crucial corrective measure was of course to bring the Chevrolet badge back to where it rightfully belongs – on the front grille. In addition to that, the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro has its SS variant flaunting the front fascia design of the Camaro SS Shock concept from last year’s SEMA. Along with the aforementioned enhancements, the upper and lower grilles have a body-colored bar in between.

A new LT1 V8 performance model has joined the line-up. With a starting price of $34,995, the LT1 is the most affordable V8 Camaro that money can buy today and with 455 hp on tap, it’s potent too. Packing features including the vented hood similar to that of the SS, LT1 fender badges, black bowtie emblems, 20-inch SS style wheels and all-season tires, the Camaro LT1 will turn out to be the major sales driver.

2020 Chevrolet Camaro SS-3

The 2020 Camaro line-up has something in store for the 3.6-liter V6 model customers. And by popular demand, the V6 models will now be having the 10-speed automatic transmission as an option. For those interested in personalizing their Camaros, a range of accessories comprising of rear spoilers, seats, badges, interior trim, colored brake calipers, and seat belts are available. A new exterior color too – Rally Green is part of the color palette now.

The entire 2020 Chevrolet Camaro range will go on sale starting this fall. GM must be counting on the 2020 MY to turn the tides in its favor after a rather dull phase for the Camaro in terms of sales.
