A rare Ferrari Daytona SP3, loaded with exposed carbon fibre, met with an unfortunate crash during the Ferrari Cavalcade 2026.

Reportedly, the incident occurred as severe summer storms, complete with heavy rain and hail, swept across the convoy route. One of just 599 units ever built, the Daytona SP3—reportedly owned by a well-known collector—collided with an Audi in slippery conditions. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. But the $5 million supercar wasn’t so lucky.

Social media was quick to react. Images showed the Ferrari Daytona SP3 pulled over on a rural roadside, draped in a protective cover, awaiting recovery.

But what makes this particular crash especially painful is the exposed carbon-fibre body. Repairs on such a structure aren’t straightforward. Matching the weave, ensuring structural integrity, and maintaining originality—it’s a complex and expensive process.

The Daytona SP3 is part of Ferrari’s Icona series, drawing inspiration from the brand’s 1960s endurance racers. It packs a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, producing 829 hp, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It can do 0-62 mph in 2.85 seconds and has a top speed north of 211 mph.
