300th Chiron leaves the Bugatti Atelier; it’s a black Pur Sport
Today, Bugatti reached a new production milestone as the 300th Chiron left the Atelier. It was an all-black Chiron Pur Sport.
The Bugatti factory in Molsheim, France, has been building the Chiron since 2016. Only 500 examples of this hyper sports car will be produced.
It’s been quite a journey and along way, we’ve seen numerous iterations of the hypercar. The Pur Sport is one of the more recent variants of the Chiron. While the base car is a blend of luxury and uncompromised performance, the Pur Sport is designed to attack the corners with utmost poise and precision.
This particular Chiron Pur Sport is finished in Nocturne paintwork – essentially an all-black exterior, complete with black wheels. It makes the car look quite menacing. Under skin, Bugatti has given the Pur Sport stiffer suspension. The fixed rear spoiler is one of many aerodynamic surfaces that generate downforce, which enables the car to attack corners.
At its heart, is the ubiquitous 8.0-liter W16 engine that’s garnished with four turbochargers. The motor puts out a meaty 1500 hp, which is delivered to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Pur Sport is designed for better acceleration and hence uses shorter gear ratios.
