BMW has revealed the next-generation X5. The new 2027 model comes with petrol, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrains. The SUV will also be available with hydrogen propulsion in the future.
The BMW X5 is the third model to receive the Neue Klasse design treatment. We quite like the new styling that features a narrow kidney grille that has an illuminated frame and a slim fascia housing double X-shaped LED headlamps – a first for BMW.

The X5 has a clean side profile with winged door handles positioned at the base of the B and C pillars. In the rear, the X5 features slim LED taillights and a sculpted bumper. It no longer has the split-folding tailgate.
The interior of the new X5 looks modern and refreshing. It comes with a unique 4-spoke steering wheel and a massive 17.9-inch central touchscreen. A 14.6-inch passenger display is available as an option. The driver info screen is integrated into a panoramic display underneath the windshield.

The fifth-generation BMW X5 is offered with a 3.0-litre straight-6 engine. The X5 50e and X5 M60e variants feature a plug-in hybrid setup, with the latter packing 612 hp.
The all-electric iX5 60 has dual electric motors that deliver 578 hp and 593 lb-ft. It is powered by a 141 kWh battery, offering a range of 525 miles. BMW also plans to introduce a hydrogen-powered variant
