2025 BMW M5 detailed specs out; production to begin in July 2024

The 2025 BMW M5 G90 is all set to debut this year. According to Bimmerpost, production will commence in June 2024. The new M5 will also be available in station wagon/estate body style. It is expected to go into production in November 2024.

The new BMW M5 is said to be 36 mm longer and 70 mm wider than the outgoing model. The car’s wheelbase has also been extended. Reports suggest that it now weighs 2435 kg!

Powering the new M5 will be S68 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 plug-in hybrid from the XM. The internal combustion engine produces 577 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, while the electric motor has a peak output of 194 hp and 207 lb-ft. The combined output is said to be pegged at 718 hp.

Another reason for the 2.4+ tonne kerb weight is the battery, which, in the case of the M5 is an 18.6 kWh unit.

Last year, we got our first look at the new-gen BMW M5, thanks to a leaked image that was circulating on social media. The new model adopts a more angular design with slim wraparound tail lights. The M5 will also get sporty add-ons like a lip spoiler, a rear diffuser and quad exhausts.
