2024 Mercedes CLE Coupe replaces C & E-Class Coupes

Mercedes-Benz has finally taken the wraps off the CLE Coupe. This car will replace both the C-Class and the E-Class Coupes in the international market. The 2024 CLE Coupe will go on sale early next year.

2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe : More Details

One might expect this car to be a regular two door C-Class. But in fact, it does share the wheelbase with the C-Class, but the CLE is 4 inches longer. Thus, with an overall length of 191 inches, the CLE is longer than both the outgoing C-Class and E-Class Coupes. Further, the CLE is just 1.1 inches shorter than the longest C-Class – the LWB version sold in China.

In terms of looks, the 2023 CLE resembles the C-Class. However, one can note a few differences like a steeply raked A pillar, smaller front overhang and a bigger rear overhang. The wheel arches are also bigger.

The insides look identical to the C-Class. The CLE Coupe gets a large 12.3-inch infotainment screen in the middle of the dash. It is complemented by an 11.9-inch driver information display. Compared to the C, the CLE gets new front seats, which house dual Burmester speakers in the headrest. To go into the rear, the front seats can be folded by first unlocking via a leather Napa loop.

Powertrain of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe

The CLE will be offered with four and six-cylinder options. The CLE 450 4Matic trim will get a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six good for 375 HP and 369 lb-ft of torque. This variant will get standard all-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The CLE 300 4Matic meanwhile will get a 2.0-liter turbo engine. It will get mild hybrid tech and develop 255 HP and 295 lb-ft.

While other details are not yet known, the car has a limited top speed of 130 mph.

Launch timeline of the CLE Coupe

Dealers in the USA should get their hands on the car by early 2024. The CLE Coupe will be followed by a CLE Cabriolet as well. Mercedes has also revealed that both the Coupe and the Cabriolet will get AMG versions at a later date.
