2023 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray hybrid caught on video!

The Chevrolet Corvette has gone from being a front-engined sports car to a mid-engined Ferrari rival. Now, Chevy is taking yet another revolutionary step. The Corvette is going hybrid!

There have been rumors of a hybrid Corvette dubbed the ‘Corvette E-Ray’ for some time now. But this is the first time we’ve seen it on video.

We still don’t have the exact details of the powertrain. However, rumors suggest that the Corvette E-Ray could use a 6.2-liter V8 paired with an electric motor mounted on the front axle. The combined output could be in the range of 600-650 hp.

The Corvette E-Ray is likely to be a plug-in hybrid. It could also get a pure EV mode, enabling the car to drive solely on electric power for a short distance.

As you can see in the video, the convoy was led by the new Corvette Z06, which is set to make its official debut on October 26.

The Z06 uses a 5.5-liter V8 featuring a flat-plane crankshaft. The engine is said to produce over 600 hp and sounds notably different than the regular Corvette.
