2020 BMW Alpina B7: 600 Hp to Make you Ignore that Big Grille

Not everyone has loved that enormous grille on the new BMW 7-Series. But with 600 hp of power, the 2020 BMW Alpina B7 will turn haters into lovers.

Come on, you can open up. That radiator grille on the all-new BMW 7-Series belongs in an apartment than on the front of a luxury sedan. But Alpina has succeeded in completely ignore that monstrosity by making the car more powerful and more luxurious. Here’s the 2020 BMW Alpina B7 and as you guessed by now, it’s also more expensive.

The Alpina-tuned 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 spits out 600 hp of power and 590 lb-ft of torque, thanks to the revised engine management system and a host of new parts which are in place to make sure that the sedan is far superior to drive than its tamer sibling. The 8-speed automatic transmission too has received a thorough massage for the challenging days of work ahead.

So how does that translate to performance? 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds is a good place to start and that’s 0.1 seconds quicker than the previous generation BMW Alpina B7. Coming to top speed, the ability to clock 205 mph bestows the 2020 B7 with an 11 mph lead over its predecessor.

Handling and comfort departments get to gain a lot from the advanced Active Comfort Drive with Road Preview System, which sets up the air suspension using camera and navigation systems. In short, the 2020 BMW Alpina B7 will be ready for what lies on the road ahead, long before it actually reaches the spot.

New 20-inch wheels (21-inchers are optional), upgraded brakes, a new front bumper, a sports exhaust, a neat spoiler and a set of unique colors are the other elements which differentiate the B7 from the rest of the 7-Series crowd.

Pricing is, of course, one that’ll shock. The regular BMW 7-Series retails for around $87,445. The Alpina B7, on the other hand, will require you to part with $142,695. Deliveries will begin in the third quarter of 2019.
