2016 Porsche 911 R sells for $1.1 million at auction; breaks all records!
RM Sotheby’s auctioned off one of the most impressive line-ups of Porsches this weekend. The White Collection includes 56 cars from different eras. Most of these cars are painted in white and have delivery miles on them. Among these was a 2016 Porsche 911 R that sold for $1.1 million, beating the previous record of $553,767.
Like most cars from the collection, this stunning Porsche 911 R is finished in paint-to-sample Grand Prix White with blue stripes and matching white centre-lock wheels. The interior is lined in Yachting Blue leather with Pepita seat inserts and Bianco White piping.
This car is equipped with options worth $92,899. These include a painted key with a leather key pouch, extended interior package leather, custom tailoring option, deviated carbon fibre floor mats, Sirius XM satellite radio, Bose surround sound system, telephone module, Sport Chrono package, electronic logbook, light design package, luggage net in the passenger footwell, air conditioning, fire extinguisher, front axle lift system, singe-mass flywheel with reinforced clutch, extended-range fuel tank (23.9 gallons), fuel cap in aluminium look, clear taillights, door sill guards in carbon fiber, headlight cleaning cover painted, SportDesign exterior mirrors upper trim carbon, LED headlights in black with PDLS side skirts painted in exterior colour, online services, Porsche Communication Management (PCM), auto-dimming mirrors with rain sensor, 911 R limitation number, aluminium model designation plaque, and windshield top tint.
Powering the 911 R is the same engine as the 997-gen 911 GT3. This 4.0-liter flat-6 motor develops 500 hp, with drive going to the rear axle. Porsche built only 991 units of the 911 R and this particular example has just 19.6 miles on the odometer.
