The McLaren 570GT might be the entry-level supercar in the brand’s line-up, but it isn’t slow by any means. Also, don’t be fooled by the ‘GT’ monicker.
According to McLaren, the 570GT can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds and will reach a top speed of 204 mph. This performance comes courtesy of a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 570 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.
The unrestricted sections of the Autobahn are some of the few places where you can open the taps of the V8 motor. The guys at AutoTopNL recently took a 570GT out for a spin to see how close they could get the 570GT’s top speed on one such section.
After a few warm-up runs, the driver was able to floor the loud pedal as the traffic was light. The car reached a speed of 176 mph before the driver had to slam on the brakes.
The 570GT is also pretty good off-road, as Mike Tornabene found out.
