What’s this Ferrari SF90 hybrid doing at the Lamborghini factory?

A Ferrari SF90 Stradale was recently spotted at the Lamborghini factory in Sant ‘Agata. Varryx caught the car in action as multiple engineers took it out for a spin.

Now, it’s quite common for automakers to test out products from rival brands. Lamborghini could be using this SF90 to learn the intricacies of the hybrid system. Afterall, the SF90 is one of the finest hybrid supercars out there.

Carmakers often benchmark their future products against rival models. However, in this case, it seems highly unlikely as Lamborghini doesn’t have a V8 hybrid in the pipeline. That being said, they are working on a V12 hybrid that will power the Aventador successor, which leads us to suspect that the Sant ‘Agata engineers could be interested in the SF90’s electric motors and battery management system.

As you’re aware, The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 that cranks out 769 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The electric motors provide a boost of 217 hp, which takes the combined output to 986 hp. The Aventador successor will use a brand-new V12 engine paired with a hybrid system similar to the SF90.
