Porsche honours designer with special edition 911 GT3 90 F.A.

Porsche has introduced a special edition 911 GT3 in honour of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the founder of Porsche Design, who passed away in 2012. He would’ve celebrated his 90th birthday this year, and hence, the name 911 GT3 90 F.A.

The Porsche 911 GT3 90 F.A. has been created by the guys at Sonderwunsch. It is based on the GT3 Touring and will be limited to just 90 examples. Prices start at $387,000.

The special edition 911 GT3 90 F.A. features a metallic green exterior similar to the Oak Green metallic used on Ferdinand’s own 911. The Sport Classic wheels have a satin black finish and centre locking hubs, featuring the 1963 Porsche crest. A unique “90 F.A. Porsche” badge can be found on the engine cover.

Inside, the special edition GT3 gets Truffle Brown Club leather seats with a chequered pattern in the centre, an open-pore walnut shift knob, and a Sport Chrono clock inspired by the Chronograph 1 watch, which was specially created for the designer himself.

Powering the 911 GT3 90 F.A. is a 4.0-liter flat-6 engine that delivers 502 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque. It is likely to be offered with a choice of manual and automatic transmission options.
