The McLaren MCL HY Le Mans hypercar has been spotted testing at Circuit Paul Ricard, and this time the prototype had to deal with a wet track. Finished in the brand’s unmistakable papaya orange, the race car looks spectacular as it tackles the slippery circuit.
A video shared on social media captures the McLaren Le Mans Hypercar being driven carefully through the corners. The downshifts are clearly audible, followed by the angry sound of its engine as the driver gets back on the throttle. At one corner exit, the rear steps out slightly before the car gathers itself and accelerates away, throwing a huge spray of water behind it.
This isn’t the MCL HY’s first track outing. McLaren Formula 1 driver and reigning world champion Lando Norris has already tested the car, while also pushing it hard during the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The hypercar uses a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 paired with a hybrid system. With proper racing hardware and that glorious engine note, the MCL HY already sounds like a serious Le Mans machine.
