Cadillac has revealed a special Escalade V dedicated to its F1 team driver Sergio “Checo” Perez, but Formula 1 fans will have to move quickly if they want one. Only 11 examples of the Checo Perez Edition will be built, matching the Mexican driver’s racing number.
There are no mechanical upgrades. The Escalade V packs a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 producing 682 hp, enough to propel the huge three-row SUV from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
Cadillac has focused on making the limited edition visually distinctive. Highlights include special blacked-out badging, monochromatic Escalade badges, an exposed carbon-fibre engine cover, aluminium pedals, unique graphics in the ground projections and a numbered plaque. Buyers also get an exclusive welcome kit.
The SUV will be offered in just two colours, black or white, inspired by Cadillac’s Formula 1 car.
There is one major catch, though. All 11 Escalade V Checo Perez Editions are reserved exclusively for the Mexican market.
