The new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive is proving that an electric SUV can be seriously quick. With 603 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque, it can accelerate to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds, making it quicker than a rear-wheel-drive BMW M3.

Power comes from a 112.2kWh battery feeding electric motors on both axles. BMW has given particular attention to the rear motor, which gets a new stator and a more powerful inverter.

The iX3 M60 xDrive also gets a higher 149 mph top speed, helped by a longer gear ratio. Adaptive M Suspension with electronically controlled dampers comes standard, giving the SUV the hardware needed to match its straight-line performance.

Visually, the M60 stands apart with distinctive lighting elements around the kidney grilles, optional yellow driving lights and BMW’s Iconic Glow exterior package. It also rides on standard 21-inch M wheels, with larger options available.
