Jaguar has revealed its most controversial car to date—the Type 01. The electric four-seat grand tourer is also the brand’s most powerful road car ever.
The production version of the Jaguar Type 01 retains the same bold styling of the concept. It’s an imposing design with sharp lines. In the front is a massive rectangular fascia with slim LED headlights and a blacked-out bumper, a high shoulder line with flush-fitting door handles, and a sloping roofline. It rides on massive 23-inch wheels.

The car measures over 17 feet long and yet has a fairly respectable turning circle of 37.7 feet, thanks to rear axle steering. It also features active aerodynamics with vanes in the front and a retractable spoiler in the back.
Jag’s new electric car has a neo-retro-style interior. It comes with a simple, minimalistic dashboard with a 7.0-inch vertical touchscreen in the center, a wide digital driver info display, and a 2-spoke steering wheel. All occupants get 12-way adjustable seats.

The Type 01 uses three electric motors—two powering the rear axle and one at the front—with a combined output of 1016 hp and 1007 lb-ft of torque. It has five drive modes: Jaguar, Dynamic, Efficient, Ice & Snow, and Curated. Jaguar claims a 0-62 mph time of 3.2 seconds. The battery pack is a 118 kWh unit that offers a maximum range of 450 miles (WLTP cycle).
