Some 2027 Chevrolet Corvette models equipped with GM’s new 6.7-litre LS6 V8 could develop a small engine oil leak, according to a recent service bulletin.
Owners or technicians may notice oil underneath the car. Further inspection could reveal a leak between the oil pan and oil-cooler adapter, with bubbling potentially visible around the adapter’s front or rear mounting points while the engine is running.

GM’s suggested fix is to replace two high-pressure port seals that are located between the oil pan and oil-cooler adapter. Technicians are also instructed to ensure the adapter’s four bolts are tightened evenly and in the correct sequence, helping prevent further leaks.
There is an important distinction here: this is not a recall. The service bulletin simply provides dealers with a repair procedure for vehicles that develop the issue.

Corvette owners who spot oil beneath their cars should therefore contact a Chevrolet dealer rather than attempting the repair themselves.
GM’s official statement:
We are aware of stories covering service bulletin PIP6132, regarding a potential oil-leak condition on certain Corvette vehicles equipped with the LS6 V8 engine. A limited number of engines may be affected, but the issue has been addressed. The service bulletin reinforces guidance for service departments that may encounter this condition. As always, customers with questions or concerns about their vehicle should contact their Chevrolet dealer for assistance. Chevrolet is committed to the quality and reliability of its vehicles and will provide additional information if warranted.
