BMW is preparing to expand its SUV lineup in the United States with a new model positioned above the X7. The company has confirmed the project, although many of the important details are still under wraps.
BMW has not revealed the new SUV’s name, price, dimensions or launch date. What we do know is that it will become the flagship of the brand’s US Sports Activity Vehicle range, giving American customers an even larger option.

The move comes as demand for big SUVs continues to remain strong in the US. BMW describes the vehicle as an “additional offering” developed specifically with American customers in mind, rather than simply another global model added to the range.
Details about its design and technology are also limited. However, the new SUV could draw inspiration from BMW’s Neue Klasse philosophy, potentially bringing some of the brand’s latest design and technology ideas to its largest SUV.
