BMW Australia has confirmed that the new eighth-generation 3 Series sedan will arrive locally early next year, bringing two very different petrol variants to the range.
The 2027 BMW 3 Series will launch with the rear-wheel-drive 320 priced from $83,900 before on-road costs. Sitting above it is the M350 xDrive, which starts at $128,900.
The 320 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder mild-hybrid engine producing 155 kW (207 hp) and 330 Nm (243 lb ft) of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic, with 0–100 km/h (0-62 mph) taking a claimed 7.4 seconds and a 240 km/h (150 mph) top speed.
The M350 xDrive is considerably quicker. Its 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six produces 326 kW (437 hp) and 580 Nm (428 lb ft) of torque, driving all four wheels. BMW claims 0–100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 4.1 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
