Genesis may be getting serious about putting its stunning X Gran Coupe and X Gran Convertible concepts into production. The company has now secured US design patents for both models, making the idea of a two-door flagship look a little less like a fantasy.
Both applications were filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on July 29, 2025. The X Gran Convertible patent was granted on August 4, 2026, while the Coupe followed on August 25.
The patents protect the two-door hardtop design of the X Gran Coupe and the open-top bodywork of the Convertible. However, Genesis has yet to confirm production plans, a manufacturing location or even what might power them.
Still, there have been reports of potential pricing between $120,000 and $160,000 if the cars reach showrooms.
