Porsche has reached a major milestone in China, handing over its one millionth new car in the mainland market. The milestone car is a 911 GT3 Touring, delivered 25 years after Porsche opened its first dealership in Beijing.

The handover took place at the Porsche Experience Centre in Shanghai on September 14, during the company’s “Enjoy Supercar Day” event. More than 1,200 owners and over 400 Porsche cars attended the celebration.

The 911 GT3 Touring starts at CNY 2.268 million ($338,626) in China. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six producing 502 hp and 331 lb ft of torque, with manual and dual-clutch transmissions available. With the PDK, it reaches 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and tops out at 193 mph.

Unlike the regular GT3, the Touring swaps the large fixed rear wing for a more discreet ducktail spoiler. It is a subtle touch, but one that suits this milestone car perfectly.
