Bentley’s first electric car, the Torcal, is about to arrive, but the British luxury brand is taking a slower approach to electrification than originally planned.
The Torcal remains on track for its world premiere on September 23, 2026. However, Bentley’s second fully electric model will not arrive before 2030, leaving the Torcal as the company’s only battery-electric offering for the rest of the decade.
That is a significant change from Bentley’s earlier plans to move to an all-electric lineup by 2030. The target was later pushed to 2035, and the company has now moved away from a fixed deadline altogether.
Instead, Bentley says customer demand and local regulations will determine which powertrains remain available. That means combustion engines will continue, while plug-in hybrids are expected to stay in the range until at least 2035.
