Aston Martin is looking for more performance from the Valkyrie

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is already one of the most dramatic race cars on the grid, but its development is far from finished. The THOR works team recently brought a development car to Silverstone to explore its next set of performance improvements.

Factory drivers Ross Gunn and Harry Tincknell took turns behind the wheel of the 5.89-km Grand Prix circuit, with the team using the session to gather data from different areas of the car. According to Team Principal Ian James, the test was an important step that could influence how the Valkyrie evolves from here.

Aston Martin has already gained valuable experience during 18 months of racing. The Valkyrie enjoyed a better 2026 season across WEC and IMSA, including a fifth-place classification for Gunn and Roman De Angelis in IMSA after they crossed the finish line second.

Silverstone also provided useful preparation for next year’s 6 Hours of Silverstone. The WEC event, scheduled for April 23-25, 2027, will be the championship’s first British round since 2019.
