The Lexus LC has officially reached the end of the road. After nearly a decade in production, Lexus has confirmed that its striking flagship coupe and convertible have been retired, bringing an end to one of the Japanese brand’s most distinctive performance cars.

Lexus announced the news through a farewell message on its consumer website, describing the LC as a car that “transformed precise engineering into pure emotion.” The company also praised its design, chassis and unmistakable V8 soundtrack.

“While the LC line has been retired, its spirit of artistry, innovation and excellence continues to live on through every Lexus we make,” the company said.

That may be true, but enthusiasts will remember the LC for something rather more tangible: beautiful proportions, a superb chassis and a V8 that sounded every bit as special as the car looked.
