BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao has expanded its Formula S range with two new electric models, including a sporty station wagon. The Formula S liftback and Formula S GT wagon have opened for pre-orders in China ahead of the Chengdu Auto Show, with prices ranging from around $34,175 to $41,610 (230,000 and 280,000 yuan).
The Formula S has a sleek four-door design featuring teardrop-shaped headlights, an active air intake, semi-hidden door handles and a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor. The entry version uses a single electric motor producing 329 hp, while a long-range variant gets a 402-hp motor and a 92 kWh LFP battery. For those wanting more performance, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version produces 657 hp. The Formula S can also deliver up to 720 km (447 miles) of claimed CLTC range, depending on the configuration.

The Formula S GT station wagon follows the same styling theme but adds a larger cargo area and an electrically operated tow hook. It comes standard with the 92 kWh battery, while the rear-wheel-drive version produces 402 hp and offers up to 850 km (528 miles) of CLTC range. The 657-hp AWD model can travel up to 730 km (453 miles).

Inside, both cars feature a large central touchscreen, digital instrument cluster and head-up display. There is a three-spoke steering wheel, physical controls, wireless charging and cup holders.
