A few months ago, Brabus unveiled the Bodo Gran Turismo Coupe – a V12-powered homage to its founder, Bodo Buschmann. Today, at Pebble Beach, the company revealed the convertible version called the Bodo Cabriolet.
The Brabus Bodo is based on the Aston Martin Vanquish. Similarly, to build the open-top version, the company took a Vanquish Volante and gave it a completely new exterior that looks like a land yacht. It measures just 200 inches in length and is almost 80 inches wide. Except for the folding fabric roof, the rest of the car looks identical to the coupe.
Under that long hood resides a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, which has been upgraded and tuned to deliver 1000 hp and 885 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels via an electronically controlled differential.
Brabus claims the Bodo Cabriolet can sprint from 0-62 mph in just 3.0 seconds and will reach a top speed of 223 mph.
Like the coupe, Brabus is building just 77 units of the Bodo Cabriolet, each with a price tag of $1.7 million.
