2027 Mercedes-Maybach GLS revealed with powerful V8 and revised styling

The 2027 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680 arrives with more power, more presence, and even more comfort than before.

At its core is an updated version of Mercedes-Benz’s familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. Now in M177 Evo form, it produces 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a second-generation starter generator, adding a layer of electrification to smooth things out.

The visual changes, however, are anything but subtle. Up front, the redesigned fascia features an illuminated grille surround, joined by a glowing Maybach badge and even a lit standing star on the bonnet—both firsts for the brand.

Ride quality remains a priority. Airmatic air suspension comes as standard, while the optional E-Active Body Control system actively manages body movement, countering roll and pitch in real time. The result should be a near-floating experience, regardless of road conditions.

Inside the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach GLS, it’s exactly what you’d expect. The latest MBUX Superscreen stretches across the dashboard, complemented by rose gold accents, ambient lighting, and enhanced massage functions for both rows. Even the Burmester 3D audio system has been upgraded, now delivering 710 watts through 15 speakers with Dolby Atmos.
