It has only been three years since we bid adieu to the glorious Audi R8. Now, the brand is back with a new supercar, and isn’t she a stunner!

The Audi Nuvolari is the brand’s first hybrid supercar. It’s named after Tazio Nuvolari, an Italian racing driver who competed in Formula 1 in the 1930s. He won his last grand prix in 1939 in an Auto Union car (Audi’s predecessor).

Unlike the R9, the Nuvolari is a limited-edition model. Only 499 cars will be produced, and deliveries are set to begin in the first half of 2027. The price? Just under $600,000.

At the heart of the Audi Nuvolari is a 1000 hp hybrid powertrain, making it the most powerful production Audi ever made. With a top speed of over 217 mph, it will also be the fastest.

The Audi Nuvolari was presented on the sidelines of the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix. CEO Gernot Döllner said, “The Audi Nuvolari brings pure emotion and performance to the road. It also reveals how we are taking ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ into a new era.”

“With the Audi Nuvolari, we are accelerating technological progress and demonstrating that the company is picking up the pace – in development, decision-making, and innovation.”

“Team spirit and the drive for continuous improvement place Formula 1 teams in pole position. This is exactly the mindset we are embedding at Audi.”
