The De Tomaso P72 was showcased as a concept back in 2019 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Now finally, the first production car has been revealed to the public. It’s a bespoke commission finished in a “uniquely tailored body colour, set against touches of rose gold”.

The De Tomaso P72 is based on a carbon fibre chassis. Designed by Jowyn Wong of Wyn Design, the exterior is inspired by the P70 racing car. It is designed to offer an old-school, mechanical driving experience and comes equipped with push-rod suspension and 3-way manually adjustable dampers.

The exterior is painted in a deep blue colour called ‘Aurelian Night’, with rose gold accents for contrast. Even the wheels are finished in rose gold that not only looks exquisite but expensive as well. Inside, you are greeted by classy analogue dials and bespoke switchgear with milled aluminium components, all finished in rose gold.

Powering the P72 is a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that delivers 700 hp and 605 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that has short gear ratios for immediate and responsive in-gear performance.
