A BMW 6 Series Convertible was seen consumed by flames in the middle of live traffic on Singapore’s Seletar Expressway (SLE) on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 8:15 AM towards the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) before the Lentor Avenue exit.

Videos from the scene circulating on social media show the BMW ablaze in the fourth lane. Thick smoke can be seen rising high above the expressway. A police vehicle can also be spotted, a short distance behind the burning car, securing the area as the situation escalated. While details are scarce at the moment, skid marks and scattered debris across the lanes point towards a sudden loss of control.

Initial reports suggest that the BMW 6 Series Convertible may have self-skidded before striking roadside railings and eventually catching fire.

Firefighters from the Singapore Civil Defence Force reached the scene quickly and took the situation under control using a water jet.

Reports say that a 34-year-old male passenger was transported conscious to Sengkang General Hospital, while the 26-year-old female driver is currently assisting authorities with investigations.
