The only CLK GTR to roll out of the Mercedes factory in this exclusive colour

The Mercedes CLK GTR is already a very rare machine. But what we have come across is an even rarer model, and that’s just because of the colour it is wearing. This is the only factory dark blue CLK GTR in existence.

Just 26 road-going CLK GTRs were ever built, each one a direct byproduct of Mercedes’ late-’90s FIA GT domination. Homologation rules demanded road cars, so Stuttgart delivered something outrageous: a barely tamed race machine with number plates. But among those 26, only one left the factory in dark blue, making it a true one-of-one model.

Under its long hood is a 6.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, producing around 604 hp and 539 lb ft. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential manual gearbox. With a 0-62 mph time of roughly 3.8 seconds and a top speed beyond 199 mph, the numbers still hold serious weight today.

Yet, the CLK GTR was never about outright stats. It’s the way it feels. The cabin is sparse, visibility is limited, and refinement barely factors into the experience. It’s a race car first, road car second. And that’s exactly why this dark blue example stands apart. In a world where even hypercars chase usability, this remains extreme, and exclusive.
