A Lamborghini Revuelto was recently involved in a high-speed incident in Georgia, after being clocked at 136 mph on a 70-mph stretch of Interstate 16.

The driver was identified as Nolan Smith Jr., a linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles. According to local authorities, Smith was stopped by deputies and arrested on charges of reckless driving and excessive speeding. He was later released on bond the same day.

The car in question, Lamborghini Revuelto, is powered by a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine with three electric motors to produce a combined 1,001 horsepower. Performance is relentless. Triple-digit speeds come up in seconds, and 136 mph is well within its capabilities.

But that’s exactly the point. Supercars like the Revuelto should be played around with in controlled environments – like on race tracks – and not public highways. There’s no questioning their capability. The real challenge is knowing when not to use it.
