The Chevy Corvette ZR1‘s lap record of the Road Atlanta circuit has been broken by a 7-year-old Porsche.
A Porsche 911 GT2 RS went around the racetrack in 1 min 22.649 seconds, beating the ZR1’s time of 1 min 22.82 seconds.
The 911 GT2 RS was introduced in 2017. However, the car that set the record was a MY2019 GT2 RS equipped with the optional Manthey Racing kit. It improved on the production car lap record of 1 min 24.88 seconds set by the GT2 RS in 2019.
Porsche also secured the lap record for a naturally aspirated production car with the 2025 911 GT3 RS Manthey Kit. It went around the circuit in 1 min 23.932 seconds, over 3 seconds quicker than the previous-gen 911 GT3 RS.
