The current generation of the BMW M3 (G80) is at the end of its lifecycle. But before it goes out of production, BMW has released one last special edition of the sports sedan.

The 2027 BMW M3 CS may look familiar on the outside, but there’s one major difference compared to the previous M3 CS. The latest version comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, instead of an 8-speed automatic. Hence, it’s called the “Handschalter”, which translates to “hand shift”.

Under the hood is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight six that produces 473 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a manual gearbox. BMW claims a 0-62 mph time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph.

The hardcore M3 is lighter and sharper than the standard version. BMW has strategically used carbon-fibre reinforced plastic to reduce weight, while also employing lightweight carbon fibre bucket seats, a titanium exhaust muffler and forged wheels.

The final edition of the M3 CS is also equipped with a revised suspension that uses shock absorbers from the M4 CSL, while a front strut brace is available as an option.

Prices for the final BMW M3 CS in the United States start at $108,450.
