Mercedes-Benz has introduced two special editions for its E-Class line-up in Australia. Called the E300 AMG Night Edition and AMG E53 Hybrid Dark Carbon Edition, they are available in “limited numbers” only.
The Mercedes-Benz E300 AMG Night Edition comes equipped with 21-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels with a high-sheen black finish, plus darkened door sills. This model also sits lower than the standard E300. No other major changes have been implemented. Mechanically, too, it remains unchanged with a 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 254 hp and 295 lb ft (400 Nm) of torque.

The Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid Dark Carbon Edition has been given 21-inch AMG black forged alloy wheels. The trims on the outside, including mirror housings, badging and grille, have been blacked out. Apart from that, there is some use of carbon fibre on the inside. No changes to the cycle parts as the car continues to draw power from its 3.0L inline 6-cylinder plug-in hybrid turbocharged engine, making 603 hp and 553 lb ft (750 Nm).
The Mercedes-Benz E300 AMG Night Edition is available at $129,400 before on-road costs. On the other hand, the AMG E53 Hybrid Dark Carbon Edition has been priced at $206,900 plus on-roads.
