If you own a Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport, you’ve got to take it out on a track. And that’s exactly what celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has been caught doing.
An Instagram video shows Ramsay enjoying his new Porsche on what seems to be the Thruxton Circuit in the UK. The footage begins with a fast fly-by, appreciated by the British restaurateur. Then we can see the sports car in the pit getting started and warmed up. The beautiful sound of its Boxer engine fills the pits.
There seem to be other drivers present as well, and Ramsay appears to be getting some kind of a briefing from one of them while prepping up to take the Porsche out for a spin. Later in the video, he appreciates the car and how amazing it is.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport is an exclusive, limited-edition (77 units) track-only race car based on the 992-generation GT3 R. It is powered by a 4.2L flat-six boxer engine that makes 620 hp at 9,400 rpm. It comes with a 6-speed sequential dog-type gearbox that sends the power to the rear wheels. Weighing at just 1240 kg, it boasts a power-to-weight ratio of roughly 2 kg per hp.
