McLaren is celebrating its success at the Indy 500, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco GP, also known as the ‘Triple Crown of Motorsports’ with a new special edition 750S.

The McLaren 750S with “3-7-59 Theme” was created to mark the brand’s achievement by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). It was presented at the Velocity Invitational in Sonoma, California.

The “3-7-59” name comes from the race-winning cars: Jhonny Rutherford’s #3 M16D that won the 1976 Indianapolis 500, Alain Prost’s #7 MP4/2 that won the 1984 F1 Monaco GP and Yannick Dalmas’ #59 McLaren F1 GTR that secured overall victory in the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Speaking of the car itself, McLaren MSO took a bog standard 750S and gave it a multicolored livery. Of course, it’s not a cheap wrap job, but an intricate paint process that took 1200 hours to complete.

The special edition 750S rides on Satin Black wheels and gets tri-color brake calipers in red, blue and gold. There are Triple Crown logos on the doors and QR codes on each colour that users can scan to get more information about the respective race car.

The interior is trimmed in a special Alcantara upholstery with orange stitching and the Triple Crown logo. It gets painted shift paddles, while the pedals are finished in white, black and orange.

Now coming to the elephant in the room – the standard McLaren 750S starts at $329,500, but McLaren says, you will need to shell out over $700,000 for the special edition. Moreover, only 6 cars are being produced and have already found buyers.
