Hennessey Performance has unveiled its H1000 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. This 1000 hp super sedan is aptly described as “Hercules in a Tuxedo”.
We love fast Caddys, especially the CTS-V. The new CT5-V Blackwing is its spiritual successor and isn’t boring by any standard, even in stock form.
The CT5-V Blackwing is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 rated 668 hp and 659 lb-ft. Cadillac offers the option of a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic, which enables the car to sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The top speed is rated at over 205 mph.
Still, Hennessey decided to upgrade the motor, so that it now produces 1000 hp and 966 lb-ft of torque. This was achieved by porting the cylinder heads and enhancing the intake and exhaust valves. The car also gets improved lifters and pushrods, oversized heat exchangers and long-tube stainless steel headers. The stock supercharger has been replaced with a high-flow blower.
The result is a 1000 hp CT5-V Blackwing that’s a second quicker to 60 mph and covers the 1/4 mile in 10.1 seconds.
Hennessey’s H1000 upgrade even comes with a 2-year / 24,000-mile limited warranty.
