The term “land-yacht” is often associated with big luxury saloons like the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Bentley Continental Flying Spur. But, Rolls-Royce’s latest “one-off limited series” is the closest you’ll get to an actual yacht for the road.

Rolls Royce Boat Tail-1

This is the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail and it is said to be the most expensive new car in the world. While the company hasn’t disclosed its actual price, it is estimated to be more than £15 million. That’s more than the £10 million Rolls Royce Sweptail. We’ve been told that Rolls-Royce will build 3 Boat Tails, each in a unique spec.

The Boat Tail was inspired by the 1932 Rolls Royce Boat Tail. Its design is a modern interpretation of the classic. Measuring 5.8 meters long, the car features the brand’s iconic pantheon grille at the front, with sleek lines extending from it. The wraparound windshield and tapered rear similar to what you’ll find on a yacht docked in the Monte Carlo harbor.

The dual-tone colour scheme is replicated on the inside. The front seats are wrapped in a darker blue shade while the rear seats are finished in a lighter tone. Unique BOVET 1822 timepieces were specifically commissioned by the owner, while a Montblanc pen resides in a hand-crafted case of aluminium and leather.

The rear decklid is hinged towards the centre line and can be opened with a touch of a button. It has a double refrigerator that will house the client’s favorite champagne.

The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is a result of 4 years of development. 1813 completely new parts were created specifically for this car. The car was tested in the harshest of conditions and is completely road legal.
