After releasing a series of teasers, Lamborghini has finally taken the wraps off the Essenza SCV12 track car. You know it’s special car, when you realize that only 40 lucky individuals will ever get to experience the ferocity of its naturally aspirated V12 engine.

The Essenza SCV12 was developed in collaboration with Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse racing division and designed by Centro Stile. It takes inspiration from racing prototypes, which is evident from the looks of it. It’s a race car that Lamborghini would’ve built if GT1 class of machines were still around. We see it as a successor to the Murcielago 670 R-SV GT1.
The SCV12 is based around an FIA homologated carbon monocoque. The aerodynamics were developed in collaboration with Dallara. The aero package produces 1200 kg of downforce at 250 km/h.
Under the carbon fiber bodywork is a naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 830 hp thanks to the RAM air duct that feeds air to the engine, while a Capristo exhaust amplifies the driving experience. It has a power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 hp/kg. The motor is paired with an X-trac sequential 6-speed gearbox. The car uses pushrod type suspension at both ends, Brembo brakes and rides on slick tires provided by Pirelli.
