Koenigsegg’s RAW Design House has created a concept car that takes aim at the McLaren Speedtail.
The RAW concept was designed by Esa Mustonen for his graduation thesis under the supervision of Christian von Koenigsegg and Sasha Selipanov, Head of Design. It’s a lightweight entry-level hypercar of the future.
We like how the designer has incorporated familiar Koenigsegg styling elements into his concept. The wraparound windshield blends perfectly into the rest of the bodywork. The front fascia is squared off and has rectangular ducts. There’s even an articulated rear diffuser.
If Koenigsegg’s dihedral synchro-helix door mechanism wasn’t complicated enough, the concept car features a similar doors that are hinged at the rear. But, interestingly, when the doors are open, the roof also retracts. Inside, the seating configuration is just like in the McLaren Speedtail – the driver sits in middle with passengers on either side.
At the heart of this concept hypercar is a 3-cylinder Freevalve engine that was first showcased in the Koenigsegg Gemera.
Actually sir, the Jesko absolut is speedtail rival. RAW is created as a vision to what future entry level sports car could look like hence it has th TFG 3 cylinder engine instead of a V8.
