Someone is Selling a McLaren Speedtail Build Slot

Couldn’t get your hands on a McLaren F1 but wish to own its hybrid successor – the McLaren Speedtail? Knight International, a Dubai-based dealer of rare cars might just have something for you. The company is selling a build slot of one of the 106 examples to be produced.

We don’t know who exactly is letting away the opportunity to own the spiritual successor to the McLaren F1, but we are sure they are going to miss on one hell of a ride. Consider this, the McLaren Speedtail will be powered by an upgraded version of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, which produces 825 hp in the Senna GTR track monster. On top of that, McLaren will add an electric powertrain for a combined estimated output of over 1000 hp. And unlike the P1, the electric motors wont just be there to fill in the low-down turbo lag this time. McLaren has teased that the hybrid system may be tuned to deliver mid to top-end power and pace.

All this will result in a top speed in excess of 243 mph and 0-62 mph acceleration time of around 2.5 seconds. McLaren also intends the Speedtail to be a grand touring hypercar and owners will have the option of speccing their cars with utmost luxury. There will of course be three seats with the driver in the center.

No one knows how much the Speedtail will cost its customers nor has Knight International provided any info on the asking price. However, expect to pay upwards of $1.5 million if you are up for the deal.
