Porsche 960 is believed to be the next supercar to replace the 918 Spyder. According to CAR Magazine, Porsche is currently working on the replacement for the 918.

Porsche has already got the badge ‘960’ trademarked in September of last year which further fueled the rumors of an upcoming supercar. That said, the Porsche 960 will not be as exclusive as the 918 and will slot between the 911 Turbo and the 918. It is expected to cost around $300,000 and could make its debut following the launch of the next-generation 911.

It is also being reported that the upcoming Porsche 960 will be a mid-engine all-wheel drive supercar with a flat-eight cylinder engine with four turbochargers. It will be built around a lightweight aluminum chassis with titanium and composites used in strategic places. Moreover, the car will tip the scales at around 1500 kg and thanks to the boosted 8-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive, it will be able to sprint from 0-60 mph in about 2.5 sec.

The main rivals of the Porsche 960 when it arrives in a couple of years would be the Ferrari 488 GTB, McLaren 650S and the Lamborghini Huracan. Clearly then, the so-called entry-level supercar segment is about to get rather interesting.
