VIDEO: Four guys push a Mercedes-AMG Project One up a ramp

You need four guys to push a Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar up a ramp. Not something you’d expect from a million dollar supercar with a Formula 1 engine in the back. Mercedes-Benz brought the Project One to the Amelia Island Concourse d’Elegance recently. It was probably the same car which was showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. It seems the show car had no engine but it did have an electric motor. As it turns out, it wasn’t built to go up ramps. The real thing has a 1.6-litre,…

2018 Geneva Motor Show: Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door

Mercedes-Benz showcased AMG GT 4-Door at the Geneva Motor Show. It is a four-door coupe based on the AMG GT sports car. Aesthetically, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door coupe is what we hoped the new CLS would have been, i.e. dynamic and imposing. A huge gaping grill with Mercedes’ new vertical slat design combines with a long, muscular bonnet for a dramatic front view. The rear seems to be borrowed directly from the AMG-GT sports car which only adds to the drama. The GT 4-Door coupe will be offered in three versions initially,…

Mercedes-AMG has started sending out ‘welcome packs’ to Project One customers. Top 5 Supercars likely to set a Nurburgring Lap Record next

The Nurburgring is the ultimate proving ground for automakers. A lap record at the ‘Green Hell’ not just validates how fast the car is but also exhibits the brand’s engineering prowess. Time and again, automakers take their new performance cars both production and track only versions to the Nordschleife to break records set by rival brands. It all comes down to the engineering at the end – the powertrain, aerodynamics, chassis and the overall calibration. In 2013, we saw the Porsche 918 Spyder set a 6 min 57 sec lap…

Mercedes AMG-GT R Black Series launch not imminent

We recently saw prototypes of a souped-up Mercedes-AMG GT and hoped it would be the Porsche 911 GT2 RS rivaling AMG GT Black Series. Tobiers Moers, head 0f AMG has now clarified that the car is coming but it’s still a few years away. The Black Series has been Mercedes’ hardcore performance models. Mercedes’ Formula-E entry could spawn an Electric hypercar

Another day, another electric hypercar. We recently heard of Porsche’s potential successor to the 918 and Mclaren’s plans for the P1 replacement. Now, we have another one. Well, in this case, a potential Mercedes-AMG Project One successor.  Just how the Project One is built on top of Formula One technology, using the technology borrowed from Formula E (which Mercedes plans to enter in 2020) the brand could build a flagship all electric hypercar. When asked by Auto Express, if Formula E technology could power an all-electric Mercedes-AMG performance flagship, Dr. Dieter…

Aston Martin Valkyrie vs Mercedes-AMG Project ONE

The holy trinity of hypercars launched 4 years ago were described by many as Formula One cars for the road – the closest you will ever get to driving an F1 car. High performance engines aided by electric motors for blistering acceleration, free of any sort of turbo lag (in case of the McLaren P1). The cars had their hybrid technologies and aerodynamic elements borrowed directly from F1. The Mclaren P1, Porsche 918 spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari were the absolute pinnacle of automotive performance on the road. Everyone who drove…
