The upcoming Huracan Performante Nurburgring lap record is set to be revealed soon. The latest, greatest Lamborghini is believed to have beaten the Aventador SV’s lap time setting a new benchmark for others to follow.

In a recent teaser video uploaded on Lamborghini’s Youtube channel, the company hints at a record breaking performance. The video shows a disguised Huracan Performante prototype on the Nordschleife. The short 30 sec clip gives a glimpse of a timer and ends with the words, “Now prepare for the highest experience.”

Lamborghini Huracan Performante: what we know so far

According to Lamborghini, the new Huracan Performante will be the fastest, most aggressive model in their line up. The model which is the replacement for the Gallardo Superleggera is 90 pounds lighter than the standard all-wheel drive Huracan.

The 5.2-liter V10 engine has been tuned for performance. Hence, it is expected to surpass the current 602 hp figure. Engineers have also re-worked the dual-clutch transmission.

One of the biggest changes however is the introduction of active aerodynamics. The aggressive aero profile is expected produce a tonne of downforce.

So, it’s faster than a 740 hp Aventador SV. Key to this is the lightweight, high downforce and a nimble chassis.
